(CHEYENNE, Wyo.) – A lawsuit over wolf management operations has moved to a Wyoming court.
Several environmental groups filed the lawsuit in Washington D.C. earlier this month, asking the federal government to place Wyoming’s wolves under the Endangered Species Act. Lawyers for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service say the move to a Wyoming court is more appropriate for the case.
Federal officials approved a plan Oct. 1 that allows for wolves to be shot on sight in nearly 80 percent of the state.
